Author Confusion

I ran across a listing for a book by a "Tobias S. Buckell" and my immediate reaction was "It's Bucknell, people, jeesh." But.. wait.. maybe I'm not right? I could've sworn. I would've put money on it, that it was Tobias Bucknell.

Why do I think it's Bucknell? Google isn't helping me find another Bucknell I may be confusing him with. And it actually turns up a few Tobias Bucknell hits, which just seem to be typos of Buckell.

What's going on here?

I'm not sure why people have an instinct to add the 'n' to my name, I think it's the university (Bucknell University), and a small number of people have become convinced that the N is there and actually now correct other people: once it even happened in my hearing (I think that's where I got the reputation for being annoyed by it, b/c I promptly turned around and corrected the correction, but I was a bit unpleasant and I regret my tone now)! LOL. I once even had my name changed by a con volunteer because they said I'd "mistyped it."

But it is "Tobias Buckell" :-)

Hey, now I know how to get authors to leave comments on my lj. ;)

I think maybe other people must've misspelled it so often that that's the spelling that stuck in my head. Well, now I can correct those other people!
