Maybe? I don't know. I know they're an old fashioned kind of thing, and you can get a bag of 'em at the dollar store. That sort of leads me to believe that they're a southern thing.

They're *good*. They're hard/crunchy sort of, not chewy, and taste like pure awesome.

Licorice allsorts. Except they don't typically show up at Halloween, not being individually wrapped.

I had no idea what they were, except that I've heard them mentioned in British shows/books. I Googleimaged them though and immediately recognized them. So _that_'s what those are!
