Beware 'SFWA contest' scam

There's a posting going around claiming that SFWA is running an 'Asimovs of the Future' contest with some slightly-higher-than-believable prizes, and asking you to send a $10 entrance fee in the form of a check made out to 'Science Fiction Writers of America' to San Diego.
I had run across this post several days ago and wondered about it. I couldn't find any official-looking post confirming it, such as on SFWA's site, or anywhere else trustworthy. Yet it didn't sound entirely unbelievable. How would they cash the checks if they weren't SFWA? They didn't even ask for any personal information other than name, age, and Email address. Well, and your story. Weird, high-profile way to plagiarize though.
In any event, it's fake, fake, fake.
Information can be found at Writer Beware.
