Microsoft has a series of commercials to counteract the awesome Apple commercials, and they invite people to post their own videos saying 'I'm a PC and I (something completely random that is somehow supposed to prove that Vista is awesome).'

I'm too lazy to make a video, and the one that popped into my head isn't actually true. At least at the moment. I do have my eye on the new Dell minis.

So, anyway, here's mine. Do you have one?

"I'm a PC and I use Linux."

I can't really let the day pass without posting something about it here, for my own future sake if nothing else. Feel free to skip this post and wait for more juicy sf/f/writing/reading/gender stuff later.

Had a slow start yesterday morning and ended up taking a cab to work, so decided it was just easiest to get the cab driver to take me to vote first. They only charged me an extra dollar for it, so that wasn't bad.

This was around 7:30 and I was third in my line. It took less than a minute before it was my turn to give my name and get my ballot. We didn't have any interesting propositions or anything to read, just a bunch of names. Voted. Put my sticker on.

After work, an Obama supporter stopped me while waiting for the bus to ask if I'd voted. Still had the sticker on as proof.

I had class after that, so no access to a computer or radio as results started coming in. Got home a bit before 8:30pm and started watching coverage then. Obama was already doing pretty well by then, so it was looking good.

I switched to Comedy Central at 10pm to watch Colbert/Stewart. Fell asleep around 10:40 or so. Woke up around 11:40 or so, not in time for any joyous victory, but in time to hear Obama's speech. And the local news had shots of people playing in a reflection pool. I'll need to download the Colbert/Stewart special or catch a rerun, because I'm sure I missed a bunch of good stuff.

Pretty good news on other election fronts, except for one major exception.

California, what the frell were you thinking?! Being swayed by people who don't even live in your state who come in with a bunch of money and a bunch of lies. Shame on you. Shame!
