Clarion 2008 Deadline Fast Approaching!
Jan. 30th, 2008 02:41 pmOf course our Clarion class was awesome, but that doesn't mean the 2008 class isn't going to be awesome as well. Just in a totally different way, okay? You can't beat our awesome. Only tie it. :)
The deadline to apply for Clarion 2008 at UCSD is March 1, 2008.
The instructor lineup is: Kelly Link, James Patrick Kelly, Mary Anne Mohanraj, Neil Gaiman, Nalo Hopkinson, and Geoff Ryman.
See? Awesome instructors to start with. They just need 19 awesome writers to join them.
So pop on over to the Clarion Workshop site and find out all the details.
Potential Applicants:
If you're worried about Southern California in the summer -- don't be. It was far more comfortable than a New England summer, believe it or not!
If you're worried about time off of work, remember it doesn't have to be vacation time. Unpaid leave, sabbatical, some sort of hiatus. Call it what you will, it's worth at least asking your supervisor about.
If you're worried about money, Clarion has some pretty good scholarships. Don't decide you can't afford it until you know for sure.
Non-Writers and/or Non-Workshop People and/or Clarion Alumni:
Want to support current and future science fiction and fantasy writers? Clarion can always use the help.
You can Volunteer or Donate.
