Trying to get to San Diego
So we're supposed to arrive by Saturday afternoon and leave on Friday. However, it's not clear to me if there's anything going on Friday morning or not. I forgot to ask.
As far as flights go, the flights are cheaper if I could arrive later in the day. Or if I could fly out on Thursday. Yet not really cheaper enough to justify a hotel room. At least, not a hotel room on my own. But we haven't been officially told who everyone else is yet, so I can't easily arrange to share a room with someone on Thursday and/or Friday night.
So I made a couple of attempts to buy tickets that would get me there around noonish on Saturday. Orbitz showed me a low(ish) fare, but when I clicked on it, suddenly it was twice as much. And no, I wasn't misreading the one-way versus round-trip fares.
So I went with Priceline. Priceline asked me for all my credit card information, so I was just waiting for it to confirm that it purchased the tickets. Instead it tells me that it didn't work, but would I like one of these other nice fares instead? Including the one I was trying to get in the first place! I tried again with the same result.
So then I poked around with naming my own fare, setting the bar pretty low because I was mad at that point. I tried that 3 times, then just gave up. I wasted 3 hours tonight and it interfered with my ability to concentrate on Heroes. And the end result was no airline tickets. :P
